Make a Golden Baroque Jewelry Set

You can always buy jewelry in a store. But to make it yourself requires some skills and passion. A big advantage of it - it's always unique. There is no other one the same, even if you follow the same tutorial. Here we go...

How does it look like?

Want to make it yourself? This bracelet is a part of an elegant set 'Golden Baroque' which consists of a bracelet, earrings and two rings. Here is what you need before you start:

  1. 5 faceted beads of iridescent dark red color (6 mm in diameter)
  2. 2 faceted iridescent dark red beads (4 mm in diameter)
  3. 5 faceted golden beads (4 mm in diameter)
  4. 8 golden crystals
  5. Small iridescent dark red seed beads
  6. Small seed beads of copper color
  7. Short golden bugles
  8. Golden lobster clasp
  9. Golden Ring
  10. A core
  11. A nylon thread 0.35mm (size D)
  12. 2 Crimps
  13. Round nose Pliers
  14. A needle for beads

Step 1. Take a 60 inches thread, fix the clasp in the middle of the thread with the help of a crimp. Then bring both ends of the thread through the dark red bead. Continue beading according to the scheme.

Step 2. Pass repeatedly one end of the thread through the pattern around the central bead, having strung more red beads in required places.

Step 3. Cross both ends of the thread in the bead and continue beading. Be careful not to cut the thread by sharp edges of the faceted beads.

Step 4. Repeat the pattern till bracelet reaches the desired length.

Step 5. (Finishing step) Bring both ends of the thread through a dark red bead and fix the ring with the help of a crimper (as in Step 1). You can attach a charm made of rings or any other that you like, just to make an accent.

Making Earrings

For earrings you will need:

  1. 2 faceted iridescent dark red beads (6 mm in diameter)
  2. 2 iridescent dark red beads (4 mm in diameter)
  3. 2 cut golden beads (4 mm in diameter)
  4. 4 golden crystals
  5. Short golden bugle,
  6. Iridescent dark red beads (small diameter)
  7. Small beads of copper color
  8. 2 golden earring backs
  9. 2 tipped rods
  10. 2 thin rings
  11. 0.25 mm nylon thread (size B)
  12. Round nose pliers
  13. Needle for beads (not necessary but if you wish)
Attention: make sure the holes in the beads are big enough to pass the thread folded in two

Step 1. (Making a charm) Put a core through a small faceted bead and a dark red bead as shown on the picture. Hang up the charm on a thread 12" long and put some beads on it.

Step 2. Finish the central pattern, having strung beads at each end of the thread. Alternate golden bugles with dark red beads. Then again pass both ends of the thread through faceted bead's hole and string the second crystal.

Step 3. Thread the rest of beads, binding threads according to the scheme. String the last bead on the ring and stretch both ends of the thread through it. Tie them together and put on some more beads.

Step 4. Decorating the clasp. Pass an 8" thread through the clasp's hole beneath the shell, then fold it in two. Cross the ends of the thread, having stretched them through a red bead, continue according to the picture. Attach the central pattern of the decoration to the upper part of the shell, passing both ends of the thread through the last bead. Place a faceted bead in the middle: pass both ends of the thread through it and cross them, having stretched through the first bead. Make a knot beneath the shell and cut off the rest of the thread.

Step 5. Attach the pendant to the clasp with the help of the ring.

Making Rings

There are two rings for this set: the first ring with a cut bead and the second ring with a crystal.

Faceted Bead Ring

You'll need:

  1. 1 faceted iridescent dark red bead (6 mm in diameter)
  2. 2 faceted iridescent dark red beads (4 mm in diameter)
  3. 2 golden crystals (4 mm in diameter)
  4. Short golden bugles
  5. Iridescent dark red beads (smaller diameter)
  6. Small beads of copper color
  7. 0.35 mm thick nylon thread (size D)
Let's start
Step 1. Put the first bead in the middle of a 20" long thread, then braid the ring until the central pattern with a big bead.

Step 2. Having finished the central pattern with beads, continue braiding the ring of the desired length ( (check your ring size ahead of time)

Step 3. Close the ring by pulling one end of the thread through the first bead. Now try on the ring and fix the thread. Cut off the rest of the thread.

Crystal Ring

Your materials:

  1. 1 dark red crystal (8 mm in diameter)
  2. 2 dark red crystals (4 mm in diameter)
  3. Iridescent dark red seed beads
  4. Small beads of copper color
  5. 0.35 mm thick nylon thread (size D)
As you have some experience already, we will keep it short:

Step 1. Put the first crystal on a 20" long thread, then braid the ring till the central pattern with crystals.

Step 2. Having finished threading the central pattern with crystals, continue braiding the ring to the required length.

Step 3. Close the ring, having stretched one end of the thread through the first crystal. Now try it on and fix the thread. Cut off the rest of the thread.
